Mack Gill, former CEO at MillenniumIT, has surfaced at Torstone Technology with the roles of COO and member of the board of directors, and responsibility to drive the company’s post-trade securities and derivatives processing solutions into new regions and market segments. He will also take an operational role in improving and scaling client service and engagement.

Gill led MillenniumIT, a technology subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group, for four years before leaving in April this year and joining Torstone in August. He previously spent towards 20 years at Sungard – now FIS – in leadership roles including president of SunGard Technology Services and most recently senior vice president of corporate development and strategy. Gill has been a board director of the International Association for Quantitative Finance for the past 18 years.

Commenting on the appointment and the company’s plans, Torstone CEO Brian Collings says strengthening the board and management team is part of Torstone’s global expansion plan for its Inferno product, which is designed to support high levels of straight through processing for settlement of a wide range of asset classes.

Gill says the post-trade space is one of the most dynamic segments of financial services, with technology innovation shaking up an industry long held back by legacy systems. His aim at Torstone is to help clients create modern, future-proof, post-trade infrastructure.
