Baton Systems Appoints David Ornstein as COO
Baton Systems, specialists in distributed ledger technology (DLT) and post-trade processing, has announced the appointment of David Ornstein as the company’s first Chief Operating Officer. Ornstein was previously Chief Operating Officer of Global Markets at Barclays Investment Bank, where he served for 13 years. Prior to Barclays, Ornstein held senior roles with Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust. Most recently, he has been working in an advisory capacity for several growth companies. Ornstein’s appointment follows two other recent senior hires, Jerome Kemp as President and William Coen as Senior Advisor.
Brad Small Joins Broadway as Head of Product
Front-office solutions provider Broadway has appointed Brad Small as Head of Product. Small joins the Executive Team and will steer the product vision, planning, strategies and projects for Broadway’s software solutions. He arrives with over 20 years of financial services industry experience, having previously held senior roles at ING, National Australia Bank, JP Morgan, Bear Stearns, and most recently Bloomberg, where he served as Fixed Income Product Manager. Small’s appointment follows a string of recent executive appointments at Broadway, including Michael Chin as CEO, Bruce Boytim as Chief Operating Officer, Dan Romanelli as Head of Relationships, and Claudia Cantarella as Chief Legal Officer.
Trading Technologies Invests $6.35 Million in KRM22, as Todd Takes the Reins
Trading Technologies, the trading software, infrastructure and data solutions company recently acquired by 7RIDGE, has confirmed that it has invested $6.35 million in risk management technology company KRM22, and entered into a distribution agreement to market and distribute KRM22 risk management products. The investment and distribution agreement represent the first stage of cooperation between TT and KRM22, whose CEO Keith Todd has taken the helm at TT. The initial integrated risk service offering is anticipated to address pre-trade risk and will be available for TT clients to use in March.
Horizon Appoints Sebastien Catalan to Head Global Pre-Sales
Electronic trading solutions provider Horizon Software has hired Sebastien Cathelin as Global Head of Presales, to help to grow Horizon’s global client base and expand Horizon’s trading services footprint in the APAC, EMEA and US regions. Cathelin brings a deep understanding of both market making and algorithmic trading, having started his career on the trading desk at Société Générale before serving with Korea Investment & Securities in Seoul as their Senior Equity Derivatives Trader & Manager. Subsequently, he led the Equity Derivatives Trading desk for BNP Paribas, building the automated market making side of the business. Before returning to Paris to join Horizon Software, he held the position of Head of Listed Products trading at Vontobel.
Exegy Adds Ross, Singer to Sales Leadership Team Post-Vela Merger
Exegy has named Devry Ross as Global Head of Partners and Jared Singer as Head of Sales – Americas as it builds out its global sales organisations following its merger with Vela. Ross joins from Bizagi where she was Director of Partners and Alliances – North America. Prior to joining Bizagi, she was Strategic Partner and Alliance Director at Finastra. Singer spent more than seven years at FIS where he served most recently as Vice President of Growth Accounts. Prior to FIS’s acquisition of SunGard, Singer spent three years as a Senior Sales Executive at SunGard. Both report to Craig Schachter, Chief Revenue Officer.
Broadway Bolsters Leadership Team with Three Key Promotions
Front-office solutions provider Broadway Technology has expanded its leadership team by promoting three long-serving members of staff into key roles. Eitan Reich has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer, Misha Weinberg as VP of Engineering, and Dario Gatta as Chief Information Officer. Reich will drive Broadway’s overall technology vision, strategy and innovation roadmap. Weinberg will oversee Broadway’s software engineering organization to design, implement and deliver the company’s fixed income trading solutions. Gatta will run Broadway’s corporate IT, information security and technology operations, as well as its Greyspan business, which offers clients full-service collocation, cloud hosting and system oversight. The promotions follow a number of executive hires and the recent expansion of Broadway’s global business development team.
Vela’s Nayer Departs Following Exegy Purchase
Following its merger with Vela Trading Systems in May, Exegy has made a number of changes to its leadership team. Former Vela CEO Jen Nayer, who has served as Chief Integration Officer since the merger, is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Exegy Chief Financial Officer Krista Steward takes over as CIO; Dave Foster joins as CFO from Refinitiv subsidiary Giact Systems.
VoxSmart Expands APAC Operations with Office in New Zealand
Communications surveillance specialist VoxSmart has opened a new office in Queenstown, New Zealand, expanding its presence in the APAC region where it already maintains offices in Singapore and Melbourne. The new office will be headed by VoxSmart COO, Adrienne Muir, a native New Zealander. The expansion marks a period of rapid growth for VoxSmart, following a $25 million growth equity investment from Toscafund and senior hires in North America earlier in the year, as well as the recent acquisition of GreenKey Technologies.
LedgerEdge Hires Dom Holland to Drive US Business Development
Emerging corporate bond trading platform LedgerEdge has appointed Dom Holland to the role of Business Development for the US, reporting to Michelle Neal, US CEO. Holland’s appointment will support the US expansion of the company, which is rolling out a global corporate bond trading platform built on distributed ledger technology (DLT). Holland was previously Head of Fixed Income Electronic Markets at BNY Mellon, and prior to that held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and RBC Capital Markets.
Iress Creates API Data and Trading Solutions Team
Trading technology provider Iress has launched a dedicated API Data and Trading Solutions team to support demand for the company’s market data and infrastructure solutions. The company says the development marks the completion of the full integration of the QuantHouse business, which it acquired in May 2019. The new team will support clients using Iress’s market data feed API solutions, such as the QuantFEED low-latency data platform, and APIs for the company’s historical data on-demand, reference data and analytics products.
