Northern Trust Establishes Capital Markets Client Solutions Team and Announces Senior Appointments

Northern Trust has made a series of appointments within its global Capital Markets business and established a Capital Markets Client Solutions team. Within the Capital Markets institutional equity brokerage business, Glenn Poulter has been named global head of Integrated Trading Solutions (ITS), with Stephanie Farrell head of ITS-Americas and Amy Thorne head of ITS-EMEA.

Additionally, Jon Cherry is appointed head of Brokerage-Americas, Gerard Walsh is now global head of client solutions for Capital Markets, and Grant Johnsey will assume the newly created role as head of client solutions for Capital Markets in the Americas.

Eventus Appoints Robbie McDonnell as Sales Director, Australia & New Zealand

Eventus, a global provider of multi-asset class trade surveillance and market risk solutions, announced today that Robbie McDonnell has joined the firm as Sales Director, Australia & New Zealand. A 30-year veteran of financial markets technology, McDonnel has held a variety of senior roles, including in global sales and regional expansion in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Most recently, he ran a consultancy business specializing in risk management and anti-money laundering (AML) systems.

McDonnell will be based in Sydney, reporting to Scott Leader, the firm’s Managing Director, APAC.

Liquidnet Appoints Nichola Hunter as Global Head of Sales for Fixed Income

Liquidnet, the technology-driven agency execution specialist, has appointed Nichola Hunter as Global Head of Sales for Fixed Income. Hunter will be responsible for growing client relationships through the delivery of tailored and innovative solutions. Based in London, she reports directly to Liquidnet’s Global Head of Fixed Income, Mark Russell.

Hunter brings over 25 years of experience in banking and electronic trading. Prior to Liquidnet, she was Head of Rates at MarketAxess, a firm she joined following the acquisition of LiquidityEdge LLC, where she served as CEO. Before that, she held senior positions at ICAP including co-head of EBS Market, Global Head of Product Management for EBS and Global Head of Client Services for ICAP’s Electronic Broking business.

OpenFin Appoints Vicky Sanders as Chief Digital Officer

OpenFin, the operating system of enterprise productivity, has appointed Vicky Sanders as Chief Digital Officer, to drive digital transformation across the company’s ecosystem of buy-side and sell-side institutions, along with the global vendor community.

Sanders most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer for TP ICAP Group’s Agency Execution division, where she was responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy of the Liquidnet and Coex Partners businesses. Prior to that she co-founded RSRCHXchange in 2014, a disruptive fintech operating as an aggregator and marketplace for institutional research, leading the business through the acquisition by Liquidnet. Earlier in her career, Sanders held roles at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

TS Imagine Appoints Thomas Bodenski as Chief Operating Officer

TS Imagine, provider of trading, portfolio, and risk management solutions for capital markets, has appointed Thomas Bodenski as COO as the firm expands its executive team to support its rapid growth.

Bodenski was previously Chief Transformation and Data Officer at the company, and earlier in his career held senior roles at FOXEYE, State Street, Capco, CSC and NTS New Technology Systems Bodenski. Based in New York, he will lead business operations across TS Imagine’s integrated trading, portfolio, and real-time risk solutions.

TS Imagine Appoints Three New Board Members

TS Imagine, the trading, portfolio, and risk management solutions company, has announced the appointment of three new non-executive board members to support the firm’s rapid growth. They are Thomas Chippas, previously CEO of ErisX who now serves on the board of Eris Clearing, LLC; Sabrina Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of the institutional digital asset infrastructure firm Copper.co; and John Stracquadanio, co-founder of private investment firm, Appia Ventures.

The senior appointments follow TS Imagine’s announcement of strong growth a year after the merger of TradingScreen and Imagine Software, including 100 new hires during the first half of this year.

Push Technology Promotes Grethe Brown to CEO

Grethe Brown, who joined real-time data streaming and messaging solutions provider Push Technology as COO earlier this year, has been named by the company as its new CEO. Brown has extensive experience in driving growth across operations, R&D, and commercial management for software companies in a variety of industries including Telco, FinTech and Food & Beverage.  She holds a BSc in mathematics from the University of Linkoping in Sweden, and an MBA from the University of Surrey.

Northern Trust Appoints Senior Execs to Head Front Office Solutions and Global Foreign Exchange Businesses

Northern Trust has appointed John Turney as Global Head of Front Office Solutions and Marisa Kurk as Head of Global Foreign Exchange (GFX). Turney, who has led GFX since 2018, takes the helm of the Front Office Solutions business as it expands to new markets across the globe, and will report to Melanie Pickett, Head of Asset Owners, Americas. Kurk, with nearly two decades of institutional foreign exchange experience, joined Northern Trust as Chief Operating Officer for GFX in 2019 and was named Chief Strategy Officer in 2021. As Head of GFX, she will report to Guy Gibson, Global Head of Capital Markets.

smartTrade Appoints Michael Henssler as President and Chief Operating Officer

Multi-asset electronic trading platforms provider smartTrade has appointed Michael Henssler as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Based in London, Henssler will be responsible for the running of all smartTrade’s field operations including sales, pre-sales and client engagement.

Henssler brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software and capital markets, most recently as General Manager of Finastra’s Treasury, Capital Markets and Risk (TCM) business unit. Prior to this his roles at Finastra included engineering support, implementation & consulting, pre-sales, business development and product management for platforms including Kondor, Sophis, Summit and Opics.

Eventus Names Scott Leader as Managing Director, APAC

Trade surveillance and market risk solutions vendor Eventus has hired Scott B. Leader as Managing Director, APAC, to head the company’s sales efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Sydney and reporting to Eventus’ Global Head of Sales Scott Schroeder, Leader has nearly three decades of financial services, sales and management experience throughout APAC and Europe.

Since 2020, he has served as Executive Director, Large Enterprise for Workday, Inc. a provider of enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources. He has also held senior-level roles at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), NYSE Euronext, Bloomberg LP, SunGard Financial Systems (now FIS), Misys and Pegasystems.
