Axe Trading Appoints Greville Lucking as CEO

Fixed income trading software company Axe trading has appointed Greville Lucking as its new Chief Executive Officer. Lucking has been with the firm since 2018 in the role of Head of Customer Support & Integration.

Earlier in his career, Lucking was Chief Operating Officer of EMBonds until their acquisition by BGC Partners in 2018. He has previously held senior roles at Formicary and prior to that was with WestLB.

smartTrade Appoints Three New Managers to its Executive Leadership Team

smartTrade, the provider of electronic trading solutions, has strengthened its Executive Leadership Team with the appointment of Carine Denis as Global Head of Business Operations, Renaud Kerspern as Chief Financial Officer and Elise van der Schans as Chief Human Resources Officer.

Denis joins from Finastra where her roles included those of Regional Operating Officer and Director of Business Operations for the COO. Kerspern is a 25-year veteran of capital markets and privately-backed SaaS businesses in the enterprise software arena. Van der Schans joins from software company Trace One, where she was Vice President, HR and MIS, in charge of Cloud, IT and HR. Prior to this she held senior roles at SunGard/FIS.

Eventus Hires Nick Wallis as Managing Director, EMEA

Trade surveillance and market risk solutions vendor Eventus has appointed Nick Wallis as as Managing Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Wallis has extensive experience in financial markets, energy derivatives and technology, including 12 years at Nasdaq, where he ran its surveillance sales and account management in EMEA, having moved into surveillance after holding responsibility for the firm’s risk management solution. Earlier in his tenure, Wallis served as Director of Commodity Sales, focused on building and managing energy trading accounts.

Based in London, Wallis will report to Scott Schroeder, Global Head of Sales for Eventus.

Liquidnet Hires James Rubinstein to Head Execution and Quantitative Services, Americas

Agency broker Liquidnet has appointed James Rubinstein as Head of Execution and Quantitative Services (EQS), Americas, based in New York. Rubinstein will be responsible for setting and leading the strategic direction for Liquidnet’s EQS offering in the region, and will report directly to Rob Laible, Global Head of Equities.

Rubinstein joins Liquidnet from BNP Paribas, where he was Head of Electronic Equities Product, Americas. Earlier in his 20+ year career, he held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and UBS.

BMLL Expands US Footprint and Hires Tim Baker as Senior Adviser

Data and analytics vendor BMLL has appointed Tim Baker as Senior Adviser. Based in New York, he will be responsible for growing BMLL’s US client base, developing and implementing the company’s growth strategy in the region, in response to increasing client demand for the company’s Level 3 Data and Analytics.

Baker is a seasoned innovator, technologist and entrepreneur, with over 30 years of experience across a wide variety of disciplines, including sell side research, banking, M&A, technology, and data science. He previously held senior roles at IEX, UBS, Refinitiv and Thomson Reuters.

Pico Appoints Stacie Swanstrom as Chief Product Officer

Pico, a provider of technology services for the financial markets community, has named Stacie Swanstrom as Chief Product Officer. Following the company’s recent acquisition of Redline Trading Solutions, Swanstrom will lead Pico’s newly expanded product management team to deliver new product innovation through PicoNet, the company’s ultra-low latency global network.

Swanstrom’s experience includes 27 years at Nasdaq, where she held various executive leadership roles, including EVP, Global Corporate Solutions and Global Head of Access Services. Since leaving Nasdaq in 2019, she has been consulting in the private sector.

Eventus Hires Josh Bosquez as Chief Technology Officer

Trade surveillance and market risk solutions vendor Eventus Systems has appointed Josh Bosquez as Chief Technology Officer. Based in Frisco, TX, and reporting to CEO Travis Schwab, he will oversee the team of engineers that design and maintain the firm’s Validus platform.

Bosquez joins with 24 years of software engineering experience, including more than 20 years in leadership roles in technology innovation, cloud-native platforms, cybersecurity and compliance. Most recently, he was Chief Technology Officer at Armor Cloud Security.

Etrading Software Expands Management Team with Two C-Level Appointments

Financial technology solutions provider Etrading Software has expanded its management team by appointing James Haskell as Chief Operating Officer and David Lane as Chief Technology Officer. Both will join the board. Haskell, who steps up from his role as Business Operations Officer at the company, previously spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs in various senior roles. Lane, earlier in his career, served at NatWest Markets, RBS and ABN Amro.

Eventus Appoints Jeff Bolke as Chief Revenue Officer

Trade surveillance and market risk solutions provider Eventus Systems has hired Jeff Bolke as Chief Revenue Officer, based in Austin, Texas. Bolke has held a number of executive and sales leadership roles at firms including Accruent, IBM and Tibco, and was most recently EVP, sales, at Planview Inc., a provider of portfolio and work management solutions. Bolke will report to Eventus CEO Travis Schwab, and will drive the firm’s global expansion strategy, overseeing the sales, marketing, business development and account management teams.

Alexandra Boyle Joins Symphony as Chief Marketing Officer

Symphony, a market messaging and collaboration technology platform, has appointed Alexandra Boyle as Chief Marketing Officer. Boyle joins from OpenFin, where she headed the Strategic Client Group in Europe.
