Distribution Spat Between FTSE, Barra Remains Unsolved

While risk data and technology firm Barra has instructed clients that it will discontinue distribution of data from index firm FTSE Group from the end of next month, FTSE says that no such decision had been communicated to them. It appears that discussions have been ongoing between the two parties, but FTSE insists that no proper discussions have taken place regarding plans to discontinue the distribution agreement. As such FTSE does not intend to make any preparations to discontinue its supply of data via Barra. We’re waiting to see what happens on this one.
