Omgeo, the Thomson Financial/DTCC-owned provider of post-trade, pre-settlement services, has hired Fritz McCormick as data business director and Matthew Nelson as director, market intelligence. McCormick comes from GoldenSource where he was vice president of business development and alliances, and prior to that he worked at analyst Celent. Nelson comes from analyst TowerGroup, and counts a stint at Interactive Data among his earlier roles. These new hires follow Omgeo’s June appointment of Tim Lind – ex of both GoldenSource and TowerGroup – as managing director, strategic planning, and are designed, the vendor says, to further strengthen Omgeo’s ability to research new markets for geographic expansion and to deepen its product portfolio.

McCormick will be responsible for the evolution of Omgeo’s data services. He will also investigate opportunities to provide Omgeo’s clients with solutions that leverage this data. He will be based in Boston and will report directly to Steve Matthews, managing director, product, and a member of Omgeo’s executive team.

Nelson will be tasked with developing metrics-driven market data that identifies and supports Omgeo’s current and future opportunities. Nelson is also based in Boston and will report directly to Lind.
