Following his departure from EDM vendor GoldenSource at the end of last year, ex-senior vice president of strategic business development and marketing Gert Raeves has surfaced at analyst firm TowerGroup as a research director in the capital markets team. Raeves, who has been a frequent speaker on the data management circuit, will now be covering business and technology trends in the post-trade space for the analyst firm.

GoldenSource has seen a number of exits and entrances over the last six months or so, including the departure of sales exec Hugh Stewart to SmartStream and the hiring of ex-Charles River Development product management director Steve Engdahl. Raeves was with GoldenSource for around five years and was initially appointed as vice president of business solutions back in August 2005. Back in 2008, he was promoted to senior vice president of strategic business development and marketing, which saw him focus on partnership development as well as running all marketing and communications functions.

Prior to GoldenSource, Raeves worked at CheckFree HelioGraph (which was later bought by Fiserv) where he was responsible for product marketing. During his five year tenure, Raeves held a variety of roles including securities product manager, business development director and, most recently, product marketing director in charge of middleware, EAI transaction management and corporate actions.

Prior to CheckFree HelioGraph, Raeves spent three years at Swift, where he held a variety of roles. In 1999 he was appointed to the position of Swift regional account manager based in London and was responsible for areas of potential growth including electronic trade confirmation and corporate actions. He began his career at JPMorgan in 1995, where he worked in operational and supervisory roles in settlement, foreign exchange and client liaison.
