Eagle and Thomson Reuters Connect Data Management Systems, Meeting Diverse Data and Reporting Needs

Eagle Investment Systems and Thomson Reuters have launched a standard interface between Eagle’s data management solution and Thomson Reuters DataScope Select.

Eagle’s data management solution provides connectivity and data integration from numerous sources and consolidates it in one location. The new standard interface allows clients to import DataScope Select security data into Eagle’s data management platform; both equity and fixed income securities are supported.

Commenting on the decision to interface with DataScope John Lehner, president of Eagle Investment Systems, said; “An interface with DataScope Select was developed to help support our clients growing security reference data requirements. Additionally, we recognize that Thomson Reuters has a very strong global presence and by creating a standard interface, this initiative supports Eagle’s goal of expanding worldwide.”

The packaged interface has been certified for use with Eagle V8.0 and later releases. Clients using earlier versions of the Eagle suite can work with Eagle’s Global Professional Services team to tailor the solution.

The standardised interface, which imports DataScope Select security reference data, is integrated with Eagle’s data management and accounting solutions via Eagle’s Message Center. Message Center is the tool used to communicate with Thomson Reuters via FTP and identify which records have changed day-over-day, transform the records into a common format, and load the data into the database.

“Our standard and generic interfaces for security information assist clients in importing security data into Eagle,” adds Lehner. “Consolidating security master data on Eagle’s platform (allows clients) to clean, enrich, extract and distribute data to meet diverse internal and external reporting and information requirements.”

“By working with Eagle our customers will have complete and accurate data to drive their master data management and enterprise data management strategies, as well as support operational efficiencies in valuation, client statements and performance measurement,” says Brian Buzzelli, vice president, fund administration, valuation & back office for the Americas at Thomson Reuters.
