SmartStream Technologies has named Akber Jaffer as CEO. He replaces Haytham Kaddoura, who held the post for over seven years and now becomes an advisor and board director at the company.

Jaffer has several years of experience working with start-ups and scaling software and technology businesses, and most recently spent a year as a freelance enterprise software private equity advisor. Prior to this, he worked at Finastra for five years in several senior management roles, and at Colt for nearly 12 years, ending his stint there as chief strategy officer and head of staff. He joined SmartStream as CEO on 19 September 2023.

Commenting on the appointment, Khalifa AlDaboos, chairman of the SmartStream board, said: “Akber Jaffer brings a distinguished career in financial services and software to our organisation. His wide-ranging experience and track record of success make him well suited to lead SmartStream.”

Kaddoura added: “We are confident that Akber Jaffer is the right leader to take SmartStream to new heights. His extensive experience and vision align with the company’s mission, and he will drive the development of new technologies to meet the demands of the industry.”
