OTC Valuations (OTC Val) has appointed Paul Bergbusch as chief technology officer to lead the vendor’s efforts to introduce its next generation of solutions. He will be engaged in further expanding the coverage for structured products and exotic derivatives under the OTC Val portfolio and will be based in Vancouver.

According to the vendor, Bergbusch joins from European hedge fund BlueCrest Capital Management, where he was head quantitative analyst for the equity derivatives desk. As a result of this experience, he has developed specialist knowledge of financial derivatives and systems engineering, including data analysis, derivatives modelling and systems development experience for pricing and processing all derivatives products, says the vendor.

In his previous role at BlueCrest, Bergbusch was responsible for the modelling of volatility products, the development and analysis of trading strategies, and front office system integration. He has also held roles in systems architecture and software engineering at Macdonald Dettwiler, an aerospace engineering firm, and quantitative research and software development for exotic interest rate and fixed income products at Fincad.
