A-Team Group’s second annual RegTech Summit will be hosted in London next week, but before the industry converges at the Guoman Tower Hotel for the event on October 4,we would like to introduce you to Stephane Malrait, global head of market structure and innovation in financial markets at ING. Malrait will present the summit’s opening keynote discussing whether collaboration between market players and RegTech vendors could help solve the challenges of implementing regulation.

He will consider the relationship between RegTech and the regulatory landscape, whether the industry needs to collaborate to create real impact with RegTech, how to demonstrate the value of RegTech implementation – and more.

In the meantime, he says: “RegTech is an important area of focus that can bring innovation benefits to solve regulatory challenges in an agile way. Our main challenge is to align all the regulatory requirements of a large organisation to solutions that can be simple to implement and control. I’m excited to discover how new RegTech companies approach complex problems and use data, AI and innovative processes to solve them.”

Formerly an FX eCommerce specialist at JP Morgan, Malrait subsequently headed up Global FIC eCommerce at Société Générale from 2007 to 2015 before moving to ING as global head of Financial Markets eCommerce and taking up his current role in March 2018. A longstanding champion of RegTech, he has a passion for innovation and a drive for implementation.
