Smartstream Updates Reconciliation Service with Agentic AI

Smartstream is to introduce a new version of its Smart Reconciliations Premium updated with agentic artificial intelligence that investigates, progresses and resolves reconciliation exceptions autonomously under centralised governance.

This development follows market pressures such as compressed settlement cycles and rising audit expectations, the data solutions provider for financial institutions and enterprises said.

“This release puts AI underneath that foundation rather than beside it, so the platform no longer simply records and matches: it investigates, reasons, resolves, and learns, within boundaries our clients set and can evidence,” said Thomas Steinborn, chief product and technology officer at Smartstream

The release reduces total cost of ownership by 25% and increases throughput by 50% on existing hardware. It is built on four core principles – governance, return on investment, integration and trust – and follows previous versions that process more than 10 billion transactions monthly for global banks.
