GLEIF Signs eMudhra as Validator for Indian LEI Issuer

EMudhra, a global provider of digital identity, authentication, and trust services, has been appointed as a Validation Agent of Legal Entity Identifier India Limited (LEIL) in the Global Legal Entity Identifier System by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF).

The partnership will enable eMudhra to embed Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) application and renewal services directly into established customer onboarding and identity verification processes.

Legal Entity Identifier India is the only issuer recognised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act.

Kaushik Srinivasan, co-founder of eMudhra, said: “Becoming a Validation Agent of LEIL in the Global LEI System is a natural extension of eMudhra’s role as a trusted Certifying Authority.”

The integration will enable organisations across India to fulfil regulatory identity requirements while reducing the need to complete separate verification checks. India became the jurisdiction with the highest number of active LEIs in January following a master direction issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
