Informatica Integrates Intelligent Data Management Cloud with Microsoft Fabric

Informatica, a provider of enterprise data management, has integrated its cloud-native, generative AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) with Microsoft Fabric, a unified data and analytics product released this week.

Fabric integrates technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI, allowing data and business professionals to unlock the potential of their data and lay the foundations for AI. Fabric comes with an SaaS, multi-cloud data lake called OneLake that is built-in and automatically available to all Fabric tenants, and is based on open data formats.

Informatica is one of the first ISV design partners for Microsoft Fabric and gives Azure customers access to its IDMC capabilities as a first-party service. The integration also provides Azure customers with access to Informatica’s data quality solution to identify and provide high quality, trusted data within Fabric’s OneLake; data democratisation to rapidly discover, identify and gain access to trusted, quality data through Informatica’s Cloud Data Marketplace; and data integration from 200-plus sources into the open OneLake Delta Parquet format.

Having worked on the integration of IDMC and Fabric for the past 18 months, Jitesh Ghai, chief product officer at Informatica, says: “The integration offers frictionless delivery of our data management capabilities and provides Azure customers confidence that their data is of the highest quality to power their business objectives.”

Arun Ulagaratchagan, corporate vice president, Azure Data at Microsoft, adds: “Fabric customers around the world can leverage Informatica to help build a trusted data foundation for their AI and analytics workloads.”

Existing and potential IDMC customers can enroll for a preview of Fabric with access available from June 2023.

Corporate Actions Europe 2010

The European corporate actions market could be the stage of some pretty heavy duty discussions regarding standards going forward, particularly with regards to the adoption of both XBRL tagging and ISO 20022 messaging. The region’s issuer community, for one, is not going to be easy to convince of the benefits of XBRL tags, given the...
