Volante Technologies Releases New Streamer for Cusip Integration Solution

Volante Technologies has launched a new solution aimed at integrating Standard & Poor’s Cusip Master File Service into firms’ databases or downstream applications. The new Streamer for Cusip solution was developed with the support of S&P’s Cusip Global Services (CGS) business and allows for the processing of additional data management rules such as validation and enrichment, says Volante.

“Getting complex feeds into production fast is the objective of the Streamer series, and Streamer for Cusip is the first of a planned series of solutions for Standard & Poor’s data services and feed. The availability of Streamer-based integration offers users total flexibility in a proven framework that also supports data governance of model driven application development,” explains Vijay Oddiraju, CEO of Volante.

The new solution is designed to reduce integration time for the Cusip service and acts as plug in for Volante’s Designer solution, which is a metadata tool aimed at automating code development. The solution features a spreadsheet style interface, says the vendor.

The Cusip Master Service offers nine character identification codes and reference data for approximately 8 million financial instruments worldwide. CGS has been tasked with finding technology partners to expand the market coverage of these identifiers, explains Jim Taylor, managing director of CGS. “By offering market participants more channels via which Cusip information can be consumed and integrated, we further fulfil our mission of powering efficient capital markets,” he says.
