Sophis, a provider of cross asset, front to back portfolio and risk management solutions, today announced the launch of version 4.0 of Value, its solution for investment management companies. This latest release incorporates significant developments in investment decision support and risk management capabilities as well as a complete upgrade of the core system architecture to improve reliability and increase data access times.

Value 4.0 enables investment managers to implement a daily investment strategy with the introduction of significantly enhanced portfolio modelling, rebalancing and overlay management capabilities. The pre-trade simulation tool allows investment managers to monitor the potential impact of a trade on portfolio exposure, risk scenarios and pre-trade compliance rules in real-time. The solution also supports advanced benchmark management for portfolio modelling, management and performance attribution.

The solution incorporates a new dedicated environment for risk managers, allowing them to accurately compute scenarios, store results and manipulate them in a scalable and flexible manner. New capabilities for risk managers include the ability to produce daily key risk indicators for ex-post analysis, versatile dynamic stress tests and detailed P&L decomposition analysis on market data, Greeks, transaction and day effects.

Value 4.0 has undergone a major technology upgrade to the Microsoft .NET framework, taking advantage of Microsoft’s latest innovations to provide improved reliability, simplified workflow processes and an enhanced user experience. In addition, Sophis has strengthened its service oriented architecture (SOA) to enable remote access. Users can now access key areas of Value functionality via the web, utilising rich internet application (RIA) technology, to perform a range of activities such as portfolio valuations, as well as being able to view and tailor their own reports in real-time. Moreover, this means that the system can be made available quickly to all users who need to access it from external sites including asset managers, risk controllers and investors, as well as any third party distributors.

“This latest release of Value is the culmination of rich feedback from our customer base as well as detailed analysis into where the market is going,” explained Samer Ballouk, global head of product management and business development, Sophis. “Ensuring our clients have access to the best portfolio and risk management tools is a key priority in the ongoing development of Sophis Value. We are working on further enhancements of the software’s functionality and have some exciting announcements in the pipeline.”
