Informatica Builds Out Data Governance Through Diaku Acquisition

Subscribe to our newsletter

Informatica is building out its data governance capability following the late February acquisition of UK data governance software and consulting company Diaku. The company has introduced Informatica Axon, a solution based on Diaku’s flagship Axon data governance technology and integrated the software with its Intelligent Data Platform.

The integration adds data governance to data quality, master data management, big data and cloud options already on the Intelligent Data Platform and provides a solution for data governance and compliance for regulations such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and BCBS 239.

Amit Walia, executive vice president and chief products officer at Informatica, says: “Informatica Axon is set to be a market-disrupting force, with the promise of being particularly game-changing for financial services, healthcare and other industries with intensive governance requirements. By integrating offerings such as Informatica Data Quality, Informatica MDM, Informatica Enterprise Information Catalog and Informatica Secure@Source with Informatica Axon, we are addressing enterprise data governance needs with a solution with depth and breadth of functionality, and embedded data governance expertise.”

Informatica Axon is designed to meet both technical and business needs for data governance by providing a holistic view of data governance programmes and progress, collaboration between business and technical staff to meet data governance goals, and a unified approach to data governance categories such as regulatory compliance, obtaining optimal value from data, and line-of-business data governance. The solution can be deployed in the cloud or on-premise.
