EDM Council Sets its Agenda

Subscribe to our newsletter

The EDM Council has set the agenda by which it proposes “to advance enterprise data management as a core operational infrastructure”. There will be four primary work streams. Under business metrics, the two focuses will be data quality and performance measurement. The council has launched an evaluation project covering the security description data elements included in the trade confirmation process as a proof of concept for the data quality activity. It has also launched a pilot project to measure the data related causes of trade errors and the costs of repair as the starting point for performance measurement. Under best practice implementation, there are two initial activities, governance and programme orchestration. The supply chain management work stream will support existing standards processes by focusing on the commercial structure of standards and implementation strategy. Under regulatory tracking, the council will analyze the regulations from a data management standpoint and use the regulatory mandates as a way of promoting the value of EDM.
