Coleman Research Connects Providers and Consumers with Exchange Platform

Coleman Research has introduced Coleman Exchange, a cloud-based software platform that helps research providers and buy-side research consumers manage key aspects of the research workflow. Research firms can use the platform for scheduling, managing subscriptions, and invoicing for analyst access and meetings. The platform also provides entitlements management, producing real-time reports that capture the consumption of subscription terms.

The model was initially based on the company’s Expert Network model to facilitate meetings. With Coleman Exchange, Coleman Research has extended the platform that it built internally to sell externally, making it simpler for sell-side firms to feed research content into the platform for distribution to buy-side customers.

Coleman Exchange connects Coleman’s extensive community of buy-side end users with a growing number of research analysts on a single platform, making it easier for sell-side members to market their analysts, track interactions, and demonstrate value.

According to Kevin Coleman, CEO of Coleman Research: “If you look at what is happening in global markets, the buy side is being asked to do more reporting, and the sell side has to look at how it is determining pricing and marketing – all out of MiFID II. So our platform facilitates compliance with the regulation for the buy side and provides the sell side with a new way to market and sell its research. The reason we can provide this is we have done over 200,000 phone calls and in-person meetings over the past 15 years so we understand the required workflows that need to take place between both the buy side and sell side.”
