Carne Global Financial Services is pleased to announce the appointment of John Ackerley as a Director with its Cayman Islands team. John joins seasoned fund directors Peter Heaps and Roisin Cater in providing governance services to Cayman domiciled funds.

John has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, and has worked on a wide range of fund structures for some of the leading names in investment management. Before joining Carne, John was working as a Senior Vice President with Maples Finance.

Prior to joining Maples Finance John worked for Rawlinson & Hunter/ The Harbour Trust Co. where he focused on the provision of governance services to top tier investment managers, primarily in the US market, and acted as a director to large investment funds. Before this, he was Vice President at Bank of America Cayman where he had overall responsibility for the client reporting team.

John came to the Cayman Islands with Butterfield Fund Services (now Butterfield Fulcrum) where he was responsible for the administration of a complex portfolio of investment funds.

Said John Donohoe, CEO of Carne: “The addition of John Ackerley to our Cayman Islands team is an important step as we continue to grow our capacity to provide the professional level of fund governance and board-level oversight that the hedge fund investor community is coming to expect. It is important that funds are able to choose independent directors who have long track records in the fund management industry and can bring real value to their roles on fund boards.”

John Ackerley joins Carne with immediate effect and will be based with the Carne office in the Cayman Islands.
