Low-latency trading solutions provider xCelor has partnered with high-frequency trading technology server company CIARA to integrate xCelor market data feed handlers with CIARA Orion HFT servers.

The partnership and the integrated technologies, which are live in production, provide low-latency trading to user firms so that they need not spend resources on IT engineering to achieve that result, according to Vijay Aggarwal, CEO of xCelor.

“The CIARA piece speeds up the xCelor driver and finance application,” says Aggarwal. “Additionally, the tails in the driver were significantly reduced as the application and driver runs at line speed.”

The Orion HFT servers use field-programmable gate arrays with normalised order books. They support major markets including the CME, Nasdaq, NYSE and Bats. They also support symbol filtering and maintenance of order books.

The latency reduction produced by xCelor feeds working with Orion HFT servers ranges from 20 to 30%, according to Aggarwal.
