Thomson Financial Upgrades Datastream Infrastructure

Thomson Financial has implemented an IBM Z990 mainframe to boost capacity of its Thomson Datastream historical database. The upgrade has increased capacity by 35%, offering clients faster response times. Additionally, Thomson has introduced Internet access to Datastream data using the Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP). Thomson says German retail bank Nassauische Sparkasse has signed up to use the PPTP access facility.
