Talking Reference Data with Andrew Delaney: Towards Analytics

Subscribe to our newsletter

Excitement is mounting here at A-Team Towers in anticipation of tomorrow’s Data Management Summit at the America Square conference centre in London. If you haven’t registered already, you can here. But you’d better hurry up.

As readers know, I’ve been discussing the content and approach of this DMS event for quite some time, so I’ll keep things short. It’s theme this time is Strategy, Innovation and Technology, and I think the programme we’ve put together gives a fair share of each. We’re pretty pleased with the agenda.

In preparing for this event, and planning for our series of Data Management and Low Latency Summits in 2014, we’ve been thinking a lot about future direction of our industry. And without getting too far into it – there are still slides to be done! – we believe we are witnessing the emergence of analytics as a kind of Holy Grail across many of the business areas we touch upon. These include pre-trade decision support and risk management, market and credit risk, and even client and regulatory reporting.

Certainly, many of the participants of tomorrow’s event have cited analytics as a key component either of their product offering or of senior management demands. We think this will have some significant bearing on A-Team’s activities in 2014, and so we’ll be distributing a survey at the DMS event (and at the Low Latency Summit in London next Tuesday), asking our delegates for their opinion on future focus.

While we’d much rather see you in person, for those of you unable to come along tomorrow, we’ve developed an online version of the survey. If you don’t plan to be at DMS, we’d appreciate your input on what you’d like to see from us in 2014. You can access the survey here.

That’s it for now. Gotta dash. See you all tomorrow.
