Winner of Best AI Solution for Client Communications at the A-Team Group’s AI in Capital Markets Awards 2026, Symphony is extending its communications platform to support AI agents across institutional workflows and client-facing channels.

Financial institutions are increasingly exploring how AI agents can improve client engagement and automate communications workflows, while maintaining the security, governance and compliance controls required in regulated environments. For Symphony, the AI-powered communications technology provider, the opportunity builds on its established network of financial institutions, connectivity to external messaging channels and existing workflow automation capabilities.

In this video interview with TradingTech Insight, Michael Lynch, Chief Operating Officer of Symphony, discusses the company’s award-winning approach and how its AI Studio enables financial institutions to introduce agentic capabilities into their communications infrastructure.

AI Studio allows institutions to create, manage and deploy agents within the Symphony ecosystem, connecting their own large language models (LLMs), Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and internal data sources. The platform supports a range of applications, from operational communications and trade support to investment banking and wealth management.

One area of focus is extending these capabilities beyond Symphony’s own messaging environment. Through integrations with WhatsApp, WeChat, LINE and SMS, institutions can incorporate AI agents into conversations taking place on clients’ preferred channels. Lynch describes how wealth managers, for example, can use agents to access portfolio information and market insights during client interactions, while also supporting more automated self-service models.

Governance remains central to Symphony’s approach. AI agents operate within the platform’s existing compliance framework, including information barriers, data loss prevention controls and end-to-end encryption. Agent interactions and associated activity are captured for compliance archiving and audit purposes, providing institutions with visibility into how AI-generated responses are produced.

Looking ahead, Lynch sees Symphony evolving from a financial messaging platform into a broader network connecting people and AI agents. He highlights trade support and operations as areas where messaging-based collaboration is increasingly being combined with automation, particularly as institutions adapt to accelerated settlement cycles.

Watch the full interview to hear Lynch discuss Symphony’s AI strategy, practical applications for client communications, its approach to governance and compliance, and the company’s plans for expanding agentic workflows across financial markets.
