SuperDerivatives, the derivatives benchmark, has appointed Mikael Benguigui to head up its expert equity derivatives sales team. Reporting to global head of sales Russel Levi, Benguigui joins SD as head of equity sales. He will be responsible for promoting SD’s equity system to a global customer base and managing relationships with large equity derivatives desks.

Benguigui has more than 12 years experience and equity derivatives expertise in sales and structuring at top tier investment banks.

Benguigui joins SD from Citigroup, where he was the head of European Structured Solution Group based in the London office. Here he managed a team of ten sales people and four structurers dedicated to provide comprehensive equity derivatives solutions to asset managers, private banks, and insurance companies.

Prior to Citigroup, Benguigui spent five years at JPMorgan in London, where he most recently held the position of head of the France, Belgium and Luxembourg equity derivatives sales team, covering private banks, prop desks, retail distributors and asset managers. Before joining JPMorgan, he was an equity derivatives structurer at BNP Paribas.

Benguigui comments: “SD has a best-in-class equities offering, a very flexible, sophisticated and user-friendly front office system for equity derivatives and a very accurate and scalable revaluation service. I look forward to helping customers realise significant value from our advanced tools and unrivalled valuations. I am excited to be part of the SD team – we are well positioned in the industry with excellent products and knowledgeable professionals.”

Levi comments: “I am convinced that Mikael’s huge expertise in equity derivatives and his deep knowledge and familiarity with the client base will help him develop our equity solution to meet changing customer needs, and further establish it as the market’s benchmark for equities.”
