StreamBase Debuts LiveView 1.0 Real-Time Analytics

StreamBase Systems has released LiveView version 1.0, a real-time analytics platform for streaming and historical data, which allows trading firms to analyse business events in real time, before they are committed to enterprise data stores.

The LiveView Continuous Query Server – built upon StreamBase’s complex event processing (CEP) technology – can consume data from more than 150 data sources, creating an in- memory, active data warehouse of streaming real-time data.  Users issue ad hoc queries to the server, which LiveView tracks and then pushes alerts back to users on a continuous basis.  The system enables applications such as real-time trading risk management, real-time network operations risk, real-time fraud detection, and real-time CDR (call data records) analysis and web analytics.

The architecture features the LiveView Continuous Query Server, which firms configure to simultaneously monitor multiple inbound data streams, and apply their own custom analytics.  These streams are then used to create Active Tables; clients register queries in the server, and, as events change and match the queries, users are immediately notified with a push-based SQL-like query mechanism.  The LiveView Desktop is an end-user application that allows users to compose new queries, drill down and graph live streams, define and manage real-time alerts, and manage automated and human-driven actions.
