State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of State Street today announced the appointment of Bill Street as global head of Fixed Income Alpha Strategies, reporting to Kevin Anderson, global chief investment officer for Fixed Income and Currency.

Street, who is based in London, was previously co-head of Active Fixed Income, alongside William Cunningham, who has left SSgA. In his previous role, Street provided leadership to SSgA teams delivering active strategies in EMEA and Asia-Pacific. He will assume responsibility for all of the active fixed income portfolio managers and the fixed income analysts and strategists. Recognizing the importance of an integrated research team in SSgA’s process, Street will be recruiting a global head of Fixed Income Research.

Street joined SSgA in 2007 from Unicredit (formerly Hypovereinsbank HVB), where he was head of Fixed Income and Proprietary Trading, and has more than 15 years of fixed income and derivatives trading experience.

State Street Global Advisors also announced that Brian Kinney has been named global head of Fixed Income Beta Solutions, reporting to Anderson. Brian most recently led SSgA’s Government Solutions group and will retain that responsibility in his expanded role. He joined SSgA in 2003 and has more than 15 years of experience in fixed income markets.

Commenting on today’s appointments, Anderson said: “These organizational decisions better position SSgA to create innovative products and solutions for our clients and help to ensure that we most effectively deploy our investment talent.”
