S&P Global Market Intelligence has acquired ChartIQ, a provider of data visualisation and charting, to enhance its S&P Capital IQ Pro platform, digital investment solutions provider Markit Digital, and other workflow solutions.

Prior to the S&P Global Market Intelligence acquisition, ChartIQ was part of Cosaic, a workflow solution provider offering data visualisation and desktop technology to the financial services sector. The acquisition was signed on December 23, 2022 and closed on January 1, 2023. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ChartIQ is a professional grade charting solution that allows users to visualise data with a fully interactive web-based library that works across web, mobile and desktop. It provides capabilities including trade visualisation, options analytics, technical analysis and more. It also allows users to visualise vendor-supplied data combined with their own proprietary content, alternative datasets or analytics.

S&P Global will license the ChartIQ charting packages on a standalone basis and as part of integrated solutions.

“The addition of ChartIQ to S&P Capital IQ Pro brings together comprehensive data and workflow with analytical capabilities and advanced charting,” says Warren Breakstone, head of desktop and channel solutions at S&P Global Market Intelligence. “As we continue to expand our data coverage, clients will be able to use a leading charting solution to unlock new opportunities and insights from this data.”
