Snowflake Unifies Data and Extends Governance Capabilities in Data Cloud

Subscribe to our newsletter

Snowflake has eliminated data silos from Data Cloud by unifying data in a single data foundation that is secured by the company’s Horizon governance model. It has also enhanced Data Cloud to allow users to bring AI and app development directly to their enterprise data.

“Snowflake’s latest innovations ensure that customers have the ability to leverage data and harness emerging technologies in a secure and governed way,” says Christian Kleinerman, senior vice president of product at Snowflake.

Data silos have been eliminated by using Apache Iceberg Tables that enable users to unite all their data in the Data Cloud, while Snowflake’s Horizon governance model has been upgraded to include data quality monitoring, a new data lineage UI, differential privacy policies to protect sensitive data, and enhanced data classification to define sensitive data and identify it across data estates.

A new cost management interface is designed to help customers manage and optimise Snowflake spend by bringing together existing cost management features and new capabilities in one user interface.
