Singapore Firm Adds Ullink Post-Trade System

Singapore-based asset management company Village Capital, which invests mainly in Japanese equities, recently began using Xtrain, a Ullink system which addresses post-trade functions including trade reconciliation, reporting and performance data management.

Village Capital chose Xtrain, after already using Ullink’s Xilix execution management system, to stop performing post-trade functions completely manually, as it had been. Taking up Xtrain has eliminated most of the company’s manual post-trade work, if not all of it, according to Ichiro Takamatsu, chief investment officers.

“We have been looking for a post-trade solution to reduce our manual work,” he says. “Xtrain functions such as ‘trading matching,’ ‘portfolio data management’ and ‘report creation’ show that Ullink understands our buy-side needs accurately. They built a post-trade solution that includes all the functions we want to use.”

Village Capital considered other providers, but found Ullink’s customisation capability an “attractive point,” says Takamatsu.
