Opensee Deploys Real-Time Risk Analytics Platform at Taula Capital

Opensee has implemented its real-time data management and risk analytics platform at Taula Capital, marking a significant step for one of the most notable hedge fund launches of the past decade. Taula Capital was founded by former Millennium Management senior trader Diego Megia last year with $5bn in AUM.

The deployment, completed in six weeks, equips Taula Capital with advanced risk aggregation tools designed to support agile operations and enable autonomous platform extensions for various structured data use cases.

The initial phase of the deployment provides Taula Capital with real-time Value at Risk (VaR) calculations and stress testing capabilities. The platform integrates data from internal and external sources, enabling comprehensive risk analysis through AI-powered data quality tools.

“Hedge funds either produce their own granular risk information and data or receive them from external providers,” explains Stephane Rio, CEO & Founder of Opensee, in conversation with TradingTech Insight. “Our platform transforms raw data to final results in real time, enabling instant re-computation and re-aggregation of risk metrics, such as VaR, whenever positions update. Unlike simple linear aggregation, real-time VaR calculation is more complex, but our solution allows any type of calculation and analytics, fast and easily accessible.”

Risk and portfolio managers can access detailed, historical risk data and recompute metrics instantly when portfolio positions are updated. Additionally, the system supports real-time scenario modelling, allowing users to test “what-if” strategies and adjust positions on demand.

“We offer flexible access to this data,” says Rio. “The platform serves a wide range of users—from risk teams to portfolio managers and senior executives—providing real-time insights anytime, anywhere. Users can connect via APIs, local interfaces, or BI tools like Tableau and Excel, or our dedicated UI, for interactive reporting, explainability or what-if and simulations.”

Opensee and Taula Capital are also collaborating to implement Opensee’s Agentic AI technology, which facilitates natural language interaction with risk and finance data. This feature aims to broaden access to complex analytics across the organisation and streamline reporting through automation.

“With agentic AI, users can get answers to open-ended questions such as ‘What explains my risk today?’ or ‘Where did I make the most money?’ simply by asking, without needing to build complex reports,” notes Rio. “Responses are delivered instantly on mobile, tablet, or desktop, making data easily accessible for non-IT savvy users.”

Beyond market risk management, the platform offers a suite of hedge fund solutions, including market data consumption, trade analytics, and liquidity optimisation, with further tools planned for release.
