Old Mutual Global Investors Implements Curium Data Management Solution

Old Mutual Global Investors, the asset management division of Old Mutual Wealth and part of the Old Mutual Group, has implemented Curium Data Systems’ data management solution for the creation of security master data and data quality management across its investment operations. The Curium solution also provides a control platform for the data governance of datasets including reference and market data.

The asset manager selected Curium as a component of its new and evolving target operating model, which is designed to support growth in funds and higher levels of data governance and business oversight. For Old Mutual Global Investors and other financial clients, Curium has the advantage of providing data management and governance without the need to replace existing data processing and technical platforms.

Simon Stratford, chief technology officer at Old Mutual Global Investors, explains: “We set ourselves some ambitious targets within operations and IT to enhance the way that we service our current business and support future growth. Curium’s ability to construct master data and provide data quality oversight was critical to the success of the target operating model programme. Our timelines for transition to the new operating model were pretty aggressive and a key factor for choosing Curium was the ease and speed with which we could integrate the product alongside the existing data architecture.”

Andrew Sexton, sales and marketing director at Curium Data Systems, adds: “This project at Old Mutual Global Investors is another milestone for Curium and demonstrates that asset management firms can implement significant changes to their data management processes without wholesale restructuring of the data architecture.”
