London Stock Exchange Sets March Date for Sedol Masterfile Launch

The London Stock Exchange has revised the launch date for its new Sedol Masterfile service. The service, which aims to establish itself as a global securities identification system, will now be introduced on March 8, when distribution of alphanumeric Sedol codes will begin. Access to the web-site will be allocated beginning March 15. The exchange opted to delay the launch from January 26, citing huge client demand (Reference Data Review, January 2004).
