DSB Calls for OTC Derivatives Experts to Join Product Committee

The Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), source of reference data for Over the Counter (OTC) derivatives, is inviting industry experts to join its product committee. The deadline for applications is Monday, 13 March 2023, and there will certainly be plenty to talk about.

The committee’s charter was revised in 2021 to include the DSB’s work as the service provider for the Unique Product Identifier (UPI), which is expected to come into play in 2024. The DSB is looking for new members to complement existing expertise in OTC derivatives products and global standards. It is well represented by North American and European regions, and is looking to increase representation from Asia and Middle East regions.

The committee, via the Digital Asset Strategy Sub-Committee, is also discussing the implications of digital assets on OTC derivatives, with the objective to agree a common methodology for the treatment of digital assets. Stakeholders with expertise in this area are welcome to apply.

“We are indebted to our product committee members, who are actively engaged and work hard to establish harmonisation and data alignment for the global OTC derivatives market,” says Emma Kalliomaki, managing director of ANNA and the DSB. “The committee has been key in DSB preparations for implementation of the UPI and, as the UPI launch date gets closer, it will help to address data-related challenges and promote best practice for stakeholders.”

The DSB product committee’s existing membership includes a diverse group of industry experts from the buy-side, sell-side, custodians, data vendors, trade repositories, trading venues and trade associations. Members are subject matter experts with OTC derivative asset class and workflow expertise.
