Credit Suisse Appoints David Murray as Senior Advisor, Australia

Credit Suisse today announced that David Murray, Chair of the Future Fund Board of Guardians and the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds, is joining the global financial services company as a Senior Advisor based in Australia.

In his new role, Mr. Murray will provide Credit Suisse’s corporate, institutional and private clients in Australia and Asia Pacific with the benefit of his extensive industry insight and expertise.

Mr. Murray brings to Credit Suisse more than 40 years of experience in the Australian banking and financial services sectors and considerable knowledge of financial markets. He spent 39 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), including in the role of Chief Executive Officer from 1992 until 2005. During his tenure as the inaugural Chairman of the Future Fund, David has brought rigour and dynamism to the oversight of over $73 billion of assets. Mr. Murray was awarded the Centenary Medal for his contribution in the areas of banking and corporate governance, and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2007.

Mr. Murray joins the Bank’s stable of Senior Advisors and experts that include former UK Prime Minister Sir John Major and Dr Laura D’Andrea Tyson, from the Credit Suisse Research Institute, who provide Credit Suisse’s clients with insight and advice across all markets and sectors.

Mr. Murray joins Credit Suisse this month and will be based in Sydney.
