ConvergEx Appoints Jim Karelas Head of Asia-Pacific Transition Management

ConvergEx Group, a leading technology company, today announced that Jim Karelas has joined the firm as head of Asia-Pacific Transition Management. In his new role, Mr. Karelas is based in Sydney, Australia and reports to Kal Bassily, head of Global Transition Management.

“Jim brings with him many years of experience in the transition management space, excellent product knowledge and a wealth of relationships,” said Mr. Bassily. “He joins us at a time when we expect to achieve tremendous growth in Asia and Australia.”

Mr. Karelas was previously with J.P. Morgan in Sydney, where he was responsible for establishing the company’s transition management capabilities throughout Australia and Asia. Before that, he held a number of relevant positions at MLC Investment Management and State Street.
