Broadridge Financial Solutions today announced the appointment of two new executives to expand and grow its business in line with industry demand. As financial services firms are increasingly looking for solutions which can streamline processing operations and offer faster routes to market, Broadridge has hired Simon Bennett as Managing Director, Sales, for Broadridge City Networks (BCN) and Robert Binney as a Senior Business Development Director to expand its European team and take advantage of new global market opportunities.

Simon will focus on growing the business in EMEA, bringing the BCN product suite, which includes reconciliation and operational risk management solutions, to buy- and sell-side clients. Robert will work in a business advisory capacity to increase the Broadridge footprint across its international solution and service range.

Simon has over 20 years of financial services experience, having held numerous senior roles with global software vendors in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. He brings a wealth of operational knowledge from the sell-side and buy-side, with previous roles including Commercial Director at Linedata Services, Deputy Sales Director at GL Trade and General Manager with Alltel. Simon is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, holds an MBA from Kingston Business School and a Degree in Financial Services from The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST).

“Broadridge is a well-regarded company with an excellent existing client base and I am looking forward to growing the BCN team and introducing the growing range of BCN solutions including the business processing outsourcing (BPO) capabilities Broadridge offers to clients to boost cost savings and efficiencies,” said Mr Bennett.

Robert has deep industry experience and offers a strong track record in leadership and business development in global financial services markets following previous roles at leading banking institutions. Past positions include Director, Strategic Accounts at FIS, Vice Chairman at Fortent and Managing Director at Citigroup, as well as various senior roles at Chase Manhattan Bank. Robert holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and achieved his MA in Engineering at Churchill College, Cambridge.

“The demand for streamlining operations is an issue for organisations worldwide and Broadridge is well-placed to offer customers an effective solution in Europe and globally,” commented Mr Binney.

Tom Carey, CEO, Securities Processing Solutions, International, Broadridge, said: “Expanding our team is a strategic move to continue providing our customers with mission-critical products and services for securities processing, reconciliation and outsourcing at a time when firms are demanding fast-to-market solutions which help them to grow their businesses, streamline operations and create efficiencies. Both Simon and Robert bring a wealth of industry experience to the company and we welcome them to the team.”
