Bloomberg Makes Data License Content Available Natively on Google Cloud

Bloomberg has extended its relationship with Google Cloud by making its Data License content available on the cloud, a move designed to enable customers to receive content natively and reduce time taken to integrate data and derive insights. Data License customers can receive Bloomberg OneData content, including reference, pricing, regulatory data, research, corporate actions, and ESG data for more than 50 million securities and 30,000 data fields, from Google Cloud. The content also includes Bloomberg’s historical data.

This move builds on Bloomberg’s existing relationship with Google Cloud, which provides access to the data vendor’s real-time data service, B-PIPE.

“As a growing number of customers migrate workloads to the cloud, they are looking for seamless end-to-end integration,” says Brian Doherty, global head of the Data License platform at Bloomberg. “Our ongoing commitment to expand Bloomberg’s data availability in the cloud through our relationship with Google Cloud will create automated workflows, reduce data onboarding time, and ultimately provide clients with an enhanced and simplified user experience.”

With Data License on Google Cloud, customers can integrate content directly into Google Cloud specific workloads from Bloomberg’s ready-to-use data website, data.bloomberg.com and maintain consistency across on-premises infrastructures Bloomberg also delivers Data License content in an analysis-ready format, allowing customers to integrate the data with Google Cloud tools they are familiar with. By making the data available natively on the cloud, customers can automatically integrate Bloomberg’s library of data directly into applications via real time data-ready notifications, and automate and accelerate delivery of content into cloud functions, analytics, and data science environments.
