Bloomberg continues to invest in cloud data access with an offering that enables customers of Google Cloud to accelerate their data strategies through the integration of Bloomberg’s cloud-based data management solution, Data License Plus (DL+), with BigQuery, Google Cloud’s fully managed, serverless data warehouse.

The collaboration also allows mutual customers to access Bloomberg Data License (DL) data fully modelled and combined directly in BigQuery and use Google Cloud analytics capabilities to efficiently extract more value from business information with minimal data wrangling.

Commenting on Google Cloud’s latest collaboration with Bloomberg, Stephen Orban, vice president of migrations, ISVs and marketplace at Google Cloud, says: “Our expanded alliance will enable customers to use Bloomberg’s leading datasets alongside their own data within BigQuery, making it easy to perform analytics with intelligence about financial markets, regulations, ESG, and other business-critical information.”

Don Huff, global head of client services and operations at Bloomberg Data Management Services, adds: “As capital markets firms continue to migrate workloads to the cloud, they need access to high quality data efficiently and in the environment of their choice. By expanding our collaboration with Google Cloud, we can further extend our customers’ enterprise analytics capabilities.”

Earlier this year, Bloomberg extended access to cloud data with a Data License Plus (DL+) Snowflake native app that allows mutual customers to provision Bloomberg Data License subscriptions in the Snowflake Data Cloud and configure a ready-to-use environment that is hydrated with modelled Bloomberg data and multi-vendor ESG content. The company also released a service based on native connectivity to the Azure Virtual Network to provide high-performance data to Bloomberg enterprise data customers using Microsoft Azure.
