Aquis Exchange Sidesteps Brexit with Plan to Set Up Paris-Based Company

Aquis Exchange, operator of a pan-European cash equities multilateral trading facility (MTF) and provider of exchange software to third parties, is establishing a venue in Paris to ensure it can continue providing financial services to its members across Europe following Brexit, which may be as soon as the end of March 2019.

The company has filed applications with the relevant French competent authorities and will open a new company in Paris, Aquis Exchange SA, which will be classed as an investment firm authorised to operate an MTF. These plans are in line with the Brexit preparedness statement Aquis Exchange made at the time of its initial public offering in June 2018.

Alasdair Haynes, CEO at Aquis Exchange, comments: “When Brexit happens, Aquis Exchange will be well positioned to continue its operations in both the UK and across the EU with minimum disruption to members.”
