Savvis, Hortonworks Partner For Hadoop in the Cloud

Savvis – which offers IaaS, managed hosting and proximity services, with a strong focus on financial markets, has announced a strategic agreement with Hortonworks, a distributor of Hadoop, to offer cloud-based big data solutions to enterprises.

The Hortonworks Data Platform will be integrated with the Savvis Symphony suite of cloud services, simplifying the movement of data between the Hadoop-based platform hosted by Savvis and enterprise data systems. The platform, powered by Apache Hadoop, is a massively scalable platform for storing, processing and analysing large volumes of data.  It is designed to integrate data from many sources and many different formats.
