David has worked in the financial services industry since 1994 working for ICAP as an FX broker and then UBS trading Eurobonds and Foreign Exchange. He joined Reuters in 1998 and had various roles in the business division running content for Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange. He joined Deutsche bank in 2004 where he ran the content business for Risk. David rejoined Thomson Reuters in 2006 where he continued working in market data running Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange with most recently adding Equities, Commodities and Energy. David’s main passion is market data but has spent large chunks of his time working with different product groups, marketing and contract negotiation on a variety of sources. In 2009 he negotiated an acquisition and then spent the remainder of the year integrating a small company in the UK who specialized in convertible bonds. His recent interest is navigating the choppy waters of regulatory changes in the market and has represented the company at forums and working groups to understand the impact on our core business.

Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) is complemented by Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR), which builds out transaction reporting requirements with a number of new reporting obligations. The data and data management challenges of reporting include an increase in instruments that must be reported and the addition of several new fields to transaction reports. Chad leads the Compliance, Operations FM function at Standard Chartered bank that includes global trade and transaction reporting obligations. Recently his duties have broadened to include central bank prudential reporting and the EU Securities Financing Transactions Regulation and other EMIR obligations including portfolio compression and reconciliation, timely confirmations, mandatory clearing and margin reform. He has been involved with regulatory reporting since 2006 from the introduction of MiFID through to Dodd-Frank, EMIR and many other G20 risk reporting requirements.
Referential Data Coordinator
David is a Director at Societe Generale, working in the Operations Regulatory Reporting Team as an SME, and has 21 years’ experience in regulatory and asset management operations. He is involved in MiFID and EMIR regulatory reporting and other non-financial regulatory reporting including Dodd-Frank, Canada, REMIT, as well as new regulations such as MiFID2/MiFIR and SFTR. David’s current role is also focused on various regulatory referential data initiatives such as counterparty and product referential data.
David has been at Societe Generale (formerly in SG Newedge UK Ltd) for over 5 years. He was previously at Goldman Sachs for over 16 years, working in Asset Management operations for 11 and more recently in Regulatory Operations for 5.5 years.
David is a member of the ISDA Cross Trade Association Reporting Working Group, FIA Europe EMIR and MiFIR reporting WG, ICMA ERCC Operations WG and other ISDA reporting related WGs. David has a BSc Honours degree in Geology from Imperial College, London.

Steve now heads up the Technology and Engineering functions within AQMetrics.
