Update: FTI & Integra’s GoldenSource Dashboard

Six months on from entering their collaborative deal Financial Technologies Inc. (FTI) and Integra SP are closing deals with two large customers for the GoldenSource Dashboard, and are reporting traction among mainly Tier 1 firms and some mid-tier firms.

Meanwhile, FTI is considering rebranding the company to GoldenSource, following its rebranding x months ago of its product line, which is likely to take effect in the first quarter of 2005. GoldenSource Dashboard is essentially a browser-based presentation layer that can visualize large amounts of data at high speed and in real time. Mike Meriton, CEO and president of FTI, says, “It can process data across our 1,100 entities and 1,400 data attributes in the GoldenSource database”. This enables operations, business and IT users to navigate consolidated data at an enterprise level. An example of its recent use, says Meriton, was when Parmalat company fell apart, the related securities, including other subsidiaries of the XX holding company, were embedded within many different funds. With the dashboard, FTI was able to quickly create a module for risk managers that leveraged Dun & Bradstreet’s identifiers and other securities and funds data in order for them to see their exposure to defunct company. Sven Thiele, CEO of Integra SP says other ways the GoldenSource Dashboard can be used include the head of investment banking seeing a global view of trades and deal volumes; an individual middle office worker dealing with unreconciled trades; or an administrator working on a repair screen. The GoldenSource Dashboard was initiated about a year ago when FTI began its search for technology to help customers visualize data within its enterprise data management system. After a process of selection, FTI chose software house Integra for its Altio XML-based toolset for real-time visualization capabilities. The thin client Altio application is already in use at firms including Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Borse and Swapstream, says Theile. Meriton says FTI selected Integra initially because of its “very light footprint, its intuitive nature, and its ability to graphically model very complex information quickly”. The GoldenSource dashboard is being offered as an optional module within FTI’s EDM architecture, and can also be private labeled by clients.
