Stuart Guinness to join Credit Suisse as Head of Emerging Markets Products, Asia Pacific

Credit Suisse announced today Stuart Guinness will join Credit Suisse as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Products, Asia Pacific in the Asset Management Division, effective November 3, 2011. He will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Neil Harvey, Head of Asia Pacific and Head of Emerging Markets globally and Sudip Thakor, Head of Global Emerging Markets Products for Asset Management.

In this newly created role, Mr Guinness will focus on Asian emerging markets product development and investment solutions for regional clients who are keen to tap into the growth potential offered by emerging markets opportunities globally. Credit Suisse’s Asset Management business provides strategic advice, services and products to institutional clients, drawing on its global expertise in Alternative Investments, Asset Allocation and Advisory as well as Emerging Markets.

Mr Guinness brings to this role over 13 years experience in the fund management industry in Asia Pacific. Most recently, he was Head of Institutional Client Relations, Corporate & Investment Banking at Societe Generale based in Hong Kong, where he oversaw new strategic client relationships and new capability development in new product segments and markets. Prior to that, he worked for Fidelity Investments from 2008-2010 in various roles, including Country Head for Korea and Regional Head of Product Development. He has also worked with Prudential Asset Management and AMP Capital Investors in pan-regional product development and marketing roles focusing on institutional relationships.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Harvey said: “The continued development of our emerging markets platform is a major growth initiative within Asset Management, and a strategic priority for Credit Suisse as an integrated bank. We are confident that Stuart will be a great addition to the team, and that he will co-ordinate the Bank’s global network to deliver the best products and customised solutions to clients.”
