Quilter Investments (formerly Old Mutual Investment Management), a London-based fund manager with over £17 billion in assets under management, has selected IHS Markit to provide it with a new Enterprise Data Management (EDM) system for security and account master management.

Quiler Investments will also utilise IHS Markit’s investment management solution, thinkFolio, to distribute the data to the front office and provide portfolio modeling, compliance, cash and FX management and trading services.

Both products will be delivered on the AWS Cloud and hosted and managed by IHS Markit, highlighting the increasing popularity of managed services to help firms manage their data requirements efficiently.

“As we set out to enhance efficiency and scalability, we needed to build a new, modern IT infrastructure capable of supporting our fast-growing business,” said Mitchell Dean, COO/CFO at Quilter Investors. “The managed service that IHS Markit offers means we can hand over the running and maintenance of the platform safe in the knowledge that we will enjoy continuity of service.”

“Asset managers are increasingly looking for trusted partners to deliver multiple solutions through a managed service,” confirmed Spiros Giannaros, global head of EDM and thinkFolio at IHS Markit.

Quilter Investments is part of Quilter Plc, formerly Old Mutual Wealth. It oversees £111.6 billion in customer investments, and in June 2018 listed on the London Stock Exchange at a market cap of £2.75 billion.
