Princeton Financial Systems presents DVS Publisher Suite 3.0

Princeton Financial Systems (PFS), a provider of investment accounting, investment compliance, data management, performance measurement, and reporting solutions for the global investment industry, introduces version 3.0 of its DVS Publisher Suite. This reporting solution supports investment and asset managers in their automated production and distribution of reports. One of the strengths of version 3.0 is its rule-based repetition of entire report sections using logical loop commands.

Furthermore, any report section can now be saved to the report repository as a new report component for later re-use, thus making report production, maintenance and quality assurance more efficient.

Using the Report Snapshot and Editor function, complete reports together with their data can be packaged and saved as a snapshot. An intuitive GUI allows editing of report data without having to manipulate the underlying data source. Thereafter, the report can be reprocessed using the edited data – for example after the auditor has entered corrections. All calculations and report logics are automatically and consistently applied to the changed data. A complete audit trail ensures that all data changes remain traceable. Special functions make it possible to easily access the corrected data from past periods and to carry out period comparisons for regulatory reporting purposes.

DVS Publisher Suite’s reworked style sheet concept offers an optimised separation of report structure and report design, ensuring efficient reporting while minimising redundancies. The flexible, configurable styles for paragraphs, tables, pictures and charts are managed as style sheets. Reports can be produced using different designs at the touch of a button – an important prerequisite for efficient white labelling. Styles can be built on top of one another and inherit a previous style’s characteristics, speeding up and easing both style configuration and subsequent style maintenance.

PFS has also improved DVS Publisher Suite’s charting functionality with new chart types such as stacked bar charts, or diagrams with two Y-axes. In addition, version 3.0 now supports multiple table of contents types in one report; a feature which allows creation of a hierarchy of table of contents pages for the entire document or even for individual chapters. Multiple tables of figures are also supported. This is very useful when creating comprehensive brochures.

Lorne Whitmore, global head of sales of Princeton Financial Systems, highlights: “Within six months we have more than doubled DVS Publisher Suite’s client base. This proves that our product strategy is well aligned with market needs. Above all, our clients appreciate DVS Publisher Suite’s flexible report design capabilities, the resulting increase in efficiency through re-usability, as well as the high level of automated report production. DVS Publisher’s pre-integration with DVS Fund Warehouse ensures data quality and, therefore, optimises report quality at the same time.”
