LiquidityBook Adds to EMEA Client Service Team
LiquidityBook, a provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) trading solutions, has named two London-based hires for its EMEA client service team. James Pearson joins from Schneider Trading Associates, where he most recently served as head of IT and takes on the role of technical implementation analyst; while Abdullah Al Nasiri joins from Fidessa to serve as a client services analyst. The hires have been made as LiquidityBook sees an increasing number of fund managers abandoning legacy technology in favour of web-based systems such as its own.
Oliver White Departs Fenergo for Enveil
After almost six years with Fenergo as UK Head of Sales, Oliver White has moved over to take up the position of EMEA Head of Sales with data security specialist Enveil, pioneer of protecting Data in Use. Before joining Fenergo in 2014, White spent eight years with Avox as UK Head of Sales, and was formerly Senior Account Manager with Alacra.
Refinitiv Hires Andrea Remyn Stone as Chief Customer Proposition Officer
Financial markets data and infrastructure giant Refinitiv has appointed Andrea Remyn Stone as Chief Customer Proposition Officer and member of the Executive Leadership team, reporting to CEO David Craig. Joining from Dealogic, where she was the Chief Strategy Officer, she will focus on working with customers to develop innovative solutions in open platform technology collaboration across the Refinitiv portfolio, including the Refinitiv Data Platform and associated products. Prior to Dealogic, Andrea spent five years at Bloomberg as Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development, and before that was McGraw-Hill’s Managing Director of Standard and Poor’s Investment Research and Advisory Services. ““I am excited to be joining Refinitiv at such a crucial time for data-services and evolution of financial market infrastructure,” she says.
LSEG Names Arne Staal Head of Research and Product Management, Information Services
London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has named Arne Staal to the newly created role of head of research and product management in its Information Services Division (ISD). Staal will lead the two complementary areas of ISD, linking up research and thought leadership with product strategy and development. Staal joins LSEG from Aberdeen Standard Investments where he served as global head of macro systematic strategies and macro risk. Previous roles include head of product research and innovation at BlackRock for iShares, European head of index products and strategy at Barclays Capital; and head of quantitative strategies at Standard Life Investments.
NYDFS Seeks New RegTech Director for Supervisory Push
The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), which regulates finance and cryptocurrency activities in New York State, is seeking a Director within its Research and Innovation Division to design, build, and manage a program to facilitate the testing of RegTech solutions to improve its supervision of regulated entities. The regulator is taking inspiration from efforts by other regulators, including the Bank of England, which the NYDFS specifically references for its initiative to enlist technology companies in the rapid testing of promising solutions.
Finantix Hires to Staff New Office in Sydney, Australia
Finantix, a provider of technology to the wealth management, insurance and banking industries, has opened an office in Australia to support its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. The Sydney-based office will be staffed by Martin McCabe as sales country manager for Australia and Todd Yarrow as senior business development executive for Australia. McCabe joins the company from with FIS where he was responsible for growing a wealth platform business across Asia-Pacific. Yarrow joins from Iress. Finantix says Australia’s sophisticated financial services sector and position as a key hub for the Asia-Pacific region makes Australia an attractive market.
Charles River Development Names Spiros Giannaros as President
Charles River Development, a State Street company, has named Spiros Giannaros as president with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the company including product, development, sales and services for the Charles River Investment Management Solution. Giannaros will report to John Plansky, CEO of Charles River and leader of State Street Global Exchange and State Street AlphaSM. Most recently, Giannaros was executive vice president and head of platform strategies at State Street. Prior to that, he served as global head of enterprise data management and thinkFolio as a partner at IHS Markit.
CQG Hires to Bolster Asia Pacific Presence
CQG, a provider of technology solutions for traders, brokers, commercial hedgers and exchanges, has announced that Benjamin Soong has joined the firm as president, APAC, and Rick Chang as head of Greater China. Rod Giffen, formerly CQG president, APAC, takes the new role of chief experience officer. Soong joins CQG from Ledger, where he was head of Asia Pacific. He previously spent 12 years at S&P Global Market Intelligence. Chang also joins from Ledger, where he served as head of commercial and operations in Asia Pacific. At CQG, he will report to Soong and oversee growth in Greater China.
Pirum Expands SFTR Team as April Deadline Approaches
Automated reconciliations provider Pirum Systems has bolstered its SFTR team with the hire of of industry experts Glenn Baldwin, Payal Lakhani, James Cosh, and Pradeep Rana. Baldwin joins from JP Morgan with 15 years of securities finance expertise. Lakhani was formerly with Citi, while Cosh spent 20 years in roles at Deutsche Bank, Nomura, Lehman Brothers and Saxo Bank. Rana spent seven years at JP Morgan as a PB Client Service Manager. Pirum’s joint SFTR solution in partnership with IHS Markit has over 60 clients already mandated, with a further 20 expected to give the green light this month.
Indigita Appoints Achille Deodato as CEO
Swiss regtech firm Indigita has announced Achille Deodato as its new CEO. Leading teams based in Geneva, Zurich and Lisbon, Deodato will be responsible for the future development of the firm’s digital cross-border compliance solutions. He joins Indigita from a Zurich-based electronic identity solution provider, where he held the role of chief operating officer. He was formerly senior project manager at a consulting company, and chief commercial officer in a Geneva-based bank. Indigita is owned by swiss regulatory risk management firm BRP Bizzozero & Partners.
