MetricStream Creates ‘Office of the CEO’

California-based Governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and integrated risk management (IRM) solutions provider MetricStream has created a new ‘Office of the CEO’ led by Andreas Diggelmann, interim CEO, and Gaurav Kapoor, COO. Former CEO Mikael Hagstroem has left to pursue other interests, but will retain a seat on the board.

Diggelmann was formerly EVP and CTO at MetricStream responsible for products, engineering, and consulting; while Kapoor Kapoor has been involved with the company since its inception, responsible for its Go-to-Market strategy including sales, marketing, communities, partner and alliances ecosystem and geographic expansion.

DTCC Promotes Lynn Bishop to CIO

DTCC has appointed Lynn Bishop as chief information officer with responsibility for the ongoing development and testing of the technology that supports DTCC’s post-trade infrastructure, communications networks, processing and messaging systems, as well as the IT applications underlying DTCC’s products and services. Bishop is a member of the firm’s management committee and reports directly to DTCC CEO, Michael Bodson. She was previously DTCC’s chief development officer (CDO) and, before that, chief technology officer.

Mark Hemsley Plans Retirement from Cboe in 2020

Mark Hemsley, executive vice president at Cboe Global Markets and president
of Cboe Europe, is planning to retire from the company at the end of February 2020. David Howson, chief operating officer of Cboe Europe since 2013, will succeed Hemsley and assume his roles on January 1, 2020. Hemsley was a founding employee of Bats Europe in 2008 and in 2011 led the transformative acquisition and integration of Chi-X Europe, creating a leading stock exchange group in Europe. Bats was acquired by Cboe Global
Markets in 2017, when Hemsley took his current role.

Muinmos Appoints Conor Ringland as New CCO

Regulatory compliance firm muinmos has hired Conor Ringland as its new Chief Commercial Officer, to be based in London and focused on growing out the muinmos PASS solution – a SaaS product using AI to deliver real-time compliance checks for financial institutions. Ringland was previously Chief Operating Officer at Concordium Foundation, and has also held roles as CEO of Walbrook Capital Markets, Head of Financial Markets (Digital) at Lloyds Commercial Bank, and Head of Front Office, Saxo Capital Markets.

TP ICAP Appoints Ex RBC Capital Markets MD as Head of Strategy

TP ICAP has appointed Joanna Nader as global head of strategy. She was previously managing director at RBC Capital Markets, where she was head of diversified/speciality financials research, covering a number of companies including TP ICAP. Before joining RBC Capital Markets, Nader spent nearly 10 years as the chief investment officer of JRJ Group, a private equity firm focused on financial services.

Treliant Appoints David Caruso

Washington DC-based multi-industry consulting firm Treliant has appointed financial crime expert David Caruso as Managing Director, to help the firm’s navigate the changing global AML landscape. Prior to joining Treliant, Caruso was the Chief Client Officer of a RegTech software company whose machine intelligence application improved how AML teams search and use adverse media in risk rating, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity detection. Previously, he founded an AML consulting firm, and before that was Chief Compliance and AML Officer at Riggs Bank, where he built a compliance, investigations, and security department in response to an enforcement action, and led the implementation of a new AML program across US and UK business lines.

LogicGate Expands Leadership Team

LogicGate, an agile process automation platform helping organisations to operationalise governance, risk, and compliance programs, has announced the addition of two new leaders to its team. Gina Hortatsos joins the company as Chief Marketing Officer while Emily Heath, most recently United Airlines’ Chief Information Security Officer, has been named to the board of directors*

IHS Markit Expands SFTR Team

IHS Markit has boosted its SFTR coverage yet further with the hire of Rashid Ali (formerly of State Street) as Director and Lead Business Analyst for STFR and Que-Phuong Dufournet (previously with Morgan Stanley) as Director, SFTR regulatory affairs. Stuart Day, who left the firm to join a hedge fund last year, has also returned to the team as Director this month. All three will report to Pierre Khemdoudi, Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Equities, Data and Analytics.

BMLL names OSTC CEO Lee Hodgkinson as non-exec director

BMLL Technologies, a data-engineering-as-a-service company, has named Lee Hodgkinson, CEO of OSTC, a global derivative trading and education firm, as chairman of the board. He becomes a non-executive director land will use his practical industry and exchange experience to support BMLL’s existing data engineering and analytics capabilities, as well as its ambitions to provide more capital markets participants with data access and advanced analytics capacity. The appointment follows the recent launch of BMLL’s Derived Data Service.

Moody’s Names Senior Executives

Moody’s Corporation has named Robert Fauber, currently president of Moody’s Investors Service (MIS), to the new role of chief operating officer of Moody’s Corporation. Fauber will drive the company’s strategic initiatives to maximize the company’s strengths and position it for the next stage of growth. Moody’s has also named Michael West to succeed Fauber as president of MIS and Stephen Tulenko as president of Moody’s Analytics. All three appointments are effective November 1, 2019. Tulenko succeeds Mark Almeida, who has served as president of Moody’s Analytics since it was launched in 2008.
