Main Capital Partners, an investment manager focused solely on the software industry in Benelux, Germany and Scandinavia, has acquired a stake in Munich-based regtech software-as-a-service specialist cleversoft for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2004, cleversoft provides cloud-based regulatory reporting services for regulatory regimes including PRIIPs, MiFID II, PIB, FIDLEG and AML, underpinned by lifecycle management solutions. The company has ambitions to develop into a leading player in the European market through organic growth along with a synergetic buy-and-build strategy, focusing on strategic acquisitions to expand into adjacent market segments and overseas markets.

“The RegTech market is accelerating under the increased pressure and complexity of regulation in the financial industry,” says cleversoft Managing Director Florian Clever. “At the same time, the market for smart regulatory solutions is underserved and extremely fragmented.”
