The London Stock Exchange has revised the launch date for its new Sedol Masterfile service. The service, which aims to establish itself as a global securities identification system, will now be introduced on March 8, when distribution of alphanumeric Sedol codes will begin. Access to the web-site will be allocated beginning March 15. The exchange opted to delay the launch from January 26, citing huge client demand (Reference Data Review, January 2004).
